End Your Struggle with Anxiety
"Sometimes, it feels like I'm dying. It's complete terror. I have to struggle for every breath, my heart is pounding, and I start to panic. My mind races and I just can't shut it off. I can't concentrate, I can't sleep, I can't keep living like this."

Does this sound like you? These words, from one of my clients, are a common experience for people struggling with anxiety.

Anxiety can affect every aspect of your life, and can even make it difficult to get through the day. Fear and panic can seem to come out of nowhere. Many clients describe themselves as constantly worried and never able to relax. Anxiety can affect not only your mental health, but also your physical health and relationships.

When you experience anxiety, it isn't just fear and worry thoughts, it's also the physiological symptoms. Your body responds to your anxiety the same way it would respond to a physical threat. This activates your nervous system in a way that causes the physical symptoms of anxiety. This is why you may experience a racing heart, difficulty breathing, sweating palms, tightness in your chest, and difficulty concentrating.

Anxiety Disorders include:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Phobias
  • Social Phobia
  • Sexual Disorders
  • Insomnia
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

You can break free of the pain of anxiety. It doesn't have to control your life. With proper treatment, many people find they are free of anxiety and panic.

When I work with a client to treat anxiety, we're working to resolve both the physical and the mental responses. You will learn how to recognize the early warning signs and triggers for your anxiety so that you can respond before it gets overwhelming. You'll also learn different ways of responding to your anxiety that allow it to resolve without becoming problematic.

Our goal is not to eliminate your anxiety, that would be impossible. Anxiety is a natural and necessary human state (even animals experience anxiety!). It serves as an early warning system to alert us to possible dangers. We are wired to experience anxiety and then release it once the threat is passed. However, for some people, the anxiety stays with them long after it has served its purpose. This is where anxiety becomes a problem. My goal in therapy is to help you experience the normal cycle of anxiety: allowing it to alert you to concerns without disrupting your life.

Because I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, I have developed a focused and effective approach in my work with clients. I know what works and how to be effective quickly. Most clients start to notice significant improvements after about 4 or 5 sessions, and usually after about 10 sessions therapy is complete.

I am a brief therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults and children. I understand the challenges my clients face living with anxiety and I can help you find a way to regain control of your life.

My practice is specialized, catering to the discriminating client who has the highest standards for treatment from a senior-level, experienced therapist. By limiting the number of clients I accept into my practice, I am able to offer a greatly enhanced level of service to my clients. Unlike the average therapist, who must answer to insurance companies, my clients' privacy and confidentiality are carefully protected.
